carlisle floodlit.pngThe Carlisle club is to have another go at staging Cumbria’s first ever competitive floodlit cricket match.

Following last week’s washout, when the 1st XI were due to entertain Cockermouth, the committee decided that they would repeat the event for the remaining “17 Sport”  home T20  game on Friday evening 9th July.

Carlisle and Workington will go head to head at Edenside at 6.30pm, with the club bars opening at 5pm. This will incorporate coloured clothing, white ball cricket under floodlights in a competitive T20 league game.

Both sides have some exciting cricketing talent and the game should make for an entertaining spectacle.

Secretary Mark Davidson said: “We also have a full evening of family entertainment and fun near the clubhouse, where Carlisle Castles will be set up and later from around 9.30pm we have a night of music from local duo A Little Of Us.

“Throw in external bars and a barbeque, plus Ian Milburn of IM Events as MC and we have the perfect Edenside party night!

“The match sponsor for the event is Sunbelt Rentals, who are providing a high quality floodlighting system at Edenside for which the club is extremely grateful.”
