miterdale pair.pngAN excellent turn-out at Helton for the first Sunday meeting of the truncated saw 109 hounds contest the three trails.

The senior table leader Miterdale Shadow was a confident winner of the opener with kennel-mate Miterdale Steel finishing well to cross the line in second only a couple of lengths down, with the pair nicely clear.

The puppy trail was a bit of a disaster as the leading bunch ran up the road and eventually Graham Reid’s Biff won the race as he was the first to cross the tape.

In the open maidens a huge field of 50 went to the slip but there was only one winner as Eden Raya had forged well clear and came home in splendid isolation.

Tonight’s meeting is at Potter’s Park.
