pigeon liberation.pngCovid-19 regulations still dominate the build-up to the 2021 season and more might be clear after Boris reveals his roadmap to easing lockdown a week tomorrow.

But there’s reason to hope that with the continued successful roll-out of the vaccination, there might be some sort of normality returning by the end of April.

Getting the new season underway by early May (about a month later than normal) seems to be the best scenario at the minute – but as we’ve found out over the last 12 months things can change quickly.

The Cumbria Combine has put out a provisional programme from May 22 while both the Derwent Valley Federation and West Cumberland Federations will have submitted their planned programmes to the RPRA.

Those have not been released as they are dependent on Covid regulations, as of course are the Combine dates which do include four Channel races.

The Combine programme released this week is: May 22- Cheltenham; May 29 – Marlborough; June 5 – Carentan; June 12 – Yeovil; June 19 - Falaise; June 26 – Yeovil 26; July 3 – Messac; July 10 – Messac 2.

The Cumbria Combine young bird race is scheduled for September 11 from Cheltenham.
