kenmares one loft.pngThe week just keeps getting better for Frizington fanciers Andrew and Tom Kenmare!

After topping their first West Cumberland Federation on Saturday, the father and son partnership have just been told one of the birds they bred has put-up a fine performance in a national race.

Last year Andrew and Tom entered the RPRA one loft race as one of the Region’s free School entries. The pigeon Frizy Flier won the school race, on behalf of Frizington School. frizy flier.png

Frizy was then entered into the yearling race again representing the school and during the three Hot Spot races has won another £160, with one second and two thirds, in the schools competition.

Les Blacklock, the Cumbria Region secretary said: “The final race was held yesterday when 108 yearlings were liberated at 11.50 am from Brechin, a distance of 334 miles.

“Three gallant pigeons homed last night and at 5.18am today Frizy Flier arrived home to record 4th Open and 1st Schools. A tremendous performance by a really honest pigeon. Naturally Andrew and Tom are over the moon. Well done Frizy you have done our Region proud.”
