pigeons racing.pngWest Cumbrian pigeon racing is due to start for the season on Saturday, May 1.

Organised group training starts tomorrow as fanciers have just over a week to get their birds race-fit, and the current good weather should help them get miles on the clock.

The return to training and racing was announced this  morning following a meeting on Wednesday between Defra and the RPRA.

For this to happen all organisations must comply with the latest Code of Practice for Avian Flu as well as complying with current Covid guidelines.

As far as the Workington Victoria club is concerned it has been agreed that members can duplicate into the Victoria Club from the first race. Duplicate birds charged at 25p.

Marking will be on Friday 30th April, all pool sheets to be in on marking night.

The West Cumbria Amalgamation has submitted a race programme to the RPRA and the Cumbria Combine programme will follow when it has been finalised.

The race programme so far is: May 1, Garstang; May 8, Appleton; May 15,Appleton; May 22, Cannock; May 29, Worcester.
